Leadership:
-Build connections with my peers outside the classroom (or library in this case)
Not to flex or anything, but I’ve done a pretty good job at developing friendships with my Leadership class. I genuinely feel like I have a family and seeing everyone on Zoom over #coronacation made me miss them more than ever. I’ve developed some really close bonds with the seniors throughout the year and I’m not looking forward to farewells. Ana and Evan have become some of my best friends. The juniors have become the most supportive and understanding friends I could’ve asked for. I’m excited to develop my friendships with the class even more next year. I share all of these memories with the class it would take up an entire page alone to recall all of them.
-Create inclusive and spirited rallies that the student body is excited for
The rallies this year were successful. We hit a couple bumps but Royce and I put a lot of effort into making them exciting. I’m proud to say that I think they all went well. This year taught me alot and I’m looking forward to applying what I learned this year to next year. The Homecoming Night Rally was definitely my favorite and Royce and I had a lot of fun this year.
Short Term:
-Get into a good university on an athletic or academic scholarship
Looking back, I was so stressed about getting into college because I genuinely didn't know if I would go for running. I didn't know if my work would pay off and I'm so happy to say it has. I didn't miss out on anything I really wanted to do. I lead my team to a TVL title, Sections title, and we even made it to State. Corona has kind of put a major bump in my track season. I've gotten emails and letters from multiple athletic programs/coaches. USD, LMU, AU, Westpoint, Nebraska. I have one more year to keep working and keep improving. I'm looking forward to my future.
-State
I MADE IT TO STATE HA. Cross country was a dream and even though it's kind of a love/hate relationship, it's growing on me. I worked really hard to get there and it's an experience I won't forget. I don't know if I'll make it to State in track this year. Honestly, I don't really know if I'll have the opportunity.
Long Term:
-Live in the suburbs with my husband, kids, dog, and white picket fence
It's kind of hard to reflect on this since it's so far away. My opinion on this hasn't really changed. I want a family and close friends and a quiet life with the people I care about.
-Travel
When I originally wrote this I was thinking more large scale. I have travelled farther than I thought I would, however. Ana and I have made numerous trips to the beach. They were all so much fun and some of my favorite memories. We went with Carmen and Kate as well. I learned a lot about everyone and have had some of the best conversations about life on that trip.
