One of my favorite memories in Leadership this year was the last night of Core Camp. The Ripon Leadership crew wanted to continue our tradition of one giant sleepover so we had to come up with a plan. This year’s scheme was much more difficult this year and, therefore, required much more planning. The Core Camp leaders were super chill about our sleepover after they realized there was no stopping 15 stubborn goals with one common goal. Somehow Molly and I managed to both sleep in a twin bed. The bonding experience was definitely worth it though. It’s bittersweet in the sense that every year the room will be different but I’m glad I got to experience it with a new crowd.
I had a lot going on personally during Homecoming and the support that the juniors gave me through that week is something I won’t forget. At some point we were all so stressed out that we took a break and Brendan led us in some meditation. We all layed in the sun on the concrete and I had my head on Gianna’s stomach. We were laughing and enjoying ourselves so much we started crying laughing. It really helped take our worries away, even if it was just for a moment. Curly was like a human ladder all throughout Homecoming. I was on his shoulders trying to reach things 24/7.
Last but not least, Powderpuff was so much fun. I had no clue what I was doing because I know practically nothing about football but Royce did amazing. We laughed way too much and probably annoyed a good amount of people, but we enjoyed ourselves. I loved cheering for court and seeing my friends so excited. Royce and I didn’t really know what was going on throughout the game but we had each other to make fun of ourselves.
