Leaders are selfless and intuitive. They listen to other people’s opinions but don’t lose their own. They stay true to who they are and try to keep a positive attitude. When things don’t go as planned, they look on the bright side. Leaders understand appropriate sacrifices and appropriate behavior. They’re kind and hardworking, inside and outside of the classroom.
Leaders value everyone and treat them equally. They don’t view social status, gender, age, etc. They lead by example and are role models for their peers. They show others how to act and inspire them to lead also.
A good leader doesn’t change who they are or what they know/believe is right. They are passionate and let their passion become them. They lead with their head AND hearts. They know when to express their emotions and when to think with their head. An ideal leader listens to all opinions and thoughts. They keep an open mind and try to understand other perspectives. They don’t shut down ideas and they step back when they see an opportunity for someone else to lead. They teach others how to be a leader and help develop their skills.
A leader isn’t a leader just because they’re called one. They possess all and more of the qualities I listed. They’re a trustworthy and dependable person for others to follow. They are humble and genuinely make being a leader a part of their everyday life.
