This year was a really good year for me. Last year, I felt like I tried really hard to be and all-around "perfect" leader. I really just had no clue what I was doing lol. I got really close to unexpected people and became more comfortable with the class. For Jaynell's elder homework we had to text someone who inspired us. Kate, who I chose as my role model for page 8, texted me. It made my day and one of the lessons she said I taught her were supporting friends. It's so good to know where my influence is. I care so much about the people I love and always try to be there for when people need me. I don't run from my emotions and I've always been someone that people can talk to. It's good to hear that things you're most proud about are appreciated.
During Homecoming the juniors really struggled and everyone knows it. We won, but it definitely came at a cost. It was hard not to become super involved in the junior officer drama and remember that I was there to help. It's really easy to overextend myself and I had to learn very early this year what my boundaries were. Knowing how much I can bite off and chew has definitely made me a better leader. I can focus my energy towards my strengths and reduce how stressed I am. We talked it out after Homecoming and we're closer than ever (some may argue tOO close but I disagree).
In the future, we should we have a Leadership lockdown/sleepover. The ultimate bonding experience. If we don't have Core Camp we should just have a lockdown because then we can all get to know each other and be forced to talk to people we usually don't. More bonding in general. The closer the class, the more fun we have together. I've noticed that as the years go on the class gets closer and closer. It's usually the seniors that don't integrate with the rest of our class but I feel like ours does a really good job at getting to know everyone
