Dear Ava and Jayden,
You both make so much sense as Rally Commissioners and I know you guys are going to have such a great time! I know you’ll both do an amazing job. This year was a little different with the rallies but I have plenty of experience from last year to help.
ALWAYS look through the procedure forms because there WILL be things you forget about. It’s important to think ahead and make a list of things you need to do in preparation for a rally. For example, trash cans, announcement forms, tech, maybe you need to borrow chairs, or see if you have decorations in the storage room.
I would also recommend texting or calling all of the people involved in the rally. For example, class presidents, technology commissioners, or game volunteers. It’s easier to run through the plan of the rally individually in case there’s any questions or problems.
Another piece of advice would be that bigger does not always mean better. The main attractions for rallies are usually things that the officers have planned and that's what is most entertaining. You don’t want to lose your audience by trying to squeeze in a game you’re not ready for. Also, wear loose or light clothing because you’ll most likely sweat your butt off.
Being Rally Commissioner isn’t just about planning rallies, however. It’s really important to dress spirited and go all out for ANY AND EVERY spirit day. You can’t expect the student to dress up and have a ton of energy if you don’t. Especially since you’re the ones in front of the entire school and seen on campus during spirit days/weeks. Always be loud, extra, over the top, and energetic.
As long as you’re having fun, everyone else will. Just make sure you run through the event and think outside the box.
